Hello Admirals Families,
It’s hard to believe that the spring session is almost over. There are many exciting things happening at the Admirals, but first, I want to congratulate the Girls 16U (Champs), Girls 12U (2-Time Finalists), Peewee A2 (Finalist), Squirt AA (Finalist) and Squirt A1 (Finalist) teams for bringing home banners in recent tournaments. Good luck to all of the Admirals teams for the remainder of the spring session.
The Admirals and Center Ice of DuPage have agreed, in principle, to a long-term ice contract. While the details of the contract are still being worked out, we are excited to continue to foster our long-term partnership with Center Ice. A special “thank-you” goes out to Jeff Schoner and Gregg Naumenko for spearheading this effort. Also, Center Ice is looking to paint the American rink this summer, so if any Admirals parents have a painting company or know of a good one, please contact Gregg Naumenko at 630-790-9696.
The Admirals Board of Directors has approved a candidate for Girls Hockey Director, and an official announcement will be coming shortly. This candidate demonstrates the Admirals’ continued commitment toward girls hockey, and we look forward to our Club becoming the destination of choice for girls hockey in Illinois.
Registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Ross K. MacNeill Memorial TOUGH Hockey Tournament on Saturday, June 11th. 100% of the proceeds from the TOUGH Tournament go to The Ross K. MacNeill Foundation and its mission to end pediatric brain cancer. Visit the R33M TOUGH Tournament page on the Admirals website for tournament details or to register. For more information on The Ross K. MacNeill Foundation, please go to www.R33M.org.
Summer and fall planning has already begun at the Admirals. Information about summer programming will be available soon. In addition, information regarding fall registration and programming will be available toward the end of July.
Mark your calendars, as the annual Admirals Golf Outing date is set. This year’s golf outing will be at the Village Links in Glen Ellyn on Thursday, August 11th. More information regarding the golf outing will be available soon. If you would like to, or know someone who would like to, donate gifts and/or prizes or would like to sponsor the Golf outing, please contact Matt Doman.
Finally, if you are interested in getting more involved in the Admirals Hockey Club, please contact a Board member or complete the online volunteer application. Volunteering for the Club is a great way to meet other Admirals parents, leverage your skillset in a meaningful way, and leave your imprint on the organization. We look forward to your help and continued support.
Go Admirals!
