Pre-Hockey

2017-18 Pre-Hockey Sessions

  • Summer Pre-Hockey runs in two sessions from June 3 - July 8, 2017, and July 15 -  August 12, 2017, on Saturdays.

  • Fall I Pre-Hockey runs August 19 - October 14, 2017, on Saturdays

  • Fall II Pre-Hockey runs October 21 - December 16, 2017, on Saturdays

  • Winter Pre-Hockey will start in January. 
     

Register online using the link below. Payments are taken online via credit card or check, and must be paid in full before taking the ice. Mid-session registrations are accepted as space allows.

Pre-Hockey Program Overview

Get started playing ice hockey with the Admirals Hockey Club! Learn skating, shooting, game skills and more!

Classes are held at Center Ice of DuPage in Glen Ellyn and are open to boys and girls aged 4-12 from all communities.

Requirement to Participate

Skaters must pass the Center Ice Skating Academy Hockey Alpha 2 program (includes Forward strides, Forward crossovers, One foot snow-plow stop, Backward swizzles, Backward C-cuts).

USA Hockey Membership

USA Hockey membership provides you with valuable information, a USA Hockey magazine subscription and, most importantly, additional insurance coverage at the rink.  Membership is free for players age 6 and under and $43 for players age 7 and older.  This is a one-time annual expense for all hockey players at all age levels, including coaches.  Membership is required for all Admirals players, including Pre-Hockey players.  Register online at:http://www.usahockeyregistration.com.  

Minimum Equipment Needed

  • Hockey skates (rental available at rink)

  • Stick**

  • Helmet with face mask**

  • Gloves**

  • Hockey knee/shin guards and elbow pads are strongly recommended

NOTE: The two most important pieces of equipment your child will have will be their skates and helmet. Buy these two items from a hockey specific shop NOT from a general sports store.

** A limited amount of hockey equipment is available at the rink if needed; first come first serve
