Fall 2011 Head Coach Bios - NIHL

Dean Lehmann, NIHL Mite AA Head Coach

Born and raised in Glen Ellyn, Coach Dean Lehmann grew up playing hockey with the Downers Grove Huskies.  After playing hockey for Glenbard West High School, he enlisted in the US Army where he played for the US Army, Ft. Hood, Texas, hockey and lacrosse teams.  Coach Dean is certified as a Level 3 USA Hockey coach, and is a Level 1 referree as well.  Director and coach of the Admirals No Check League since its inception in 2005, Coach Dean also has developed goalies and instructed pre-hockey classes for the club.  In 2011, he led the Admirals NWHL Pee Wee Red team to its championship and also was honored as the Admirals 2011 NWHL Coach of the Year.

Stu Gould, NIHL Squirt AA Head Coach

With more than 26 years of experience on and off the ice, Coach Stu Gould is the Admirals' full-time Hockey Director. He heads up our player development efforts and oversees all of our on-ice programs, including goalie development.

Dave Carlstrom, NIHL Bantam AA Head Coach

Coach Dave Carlstrom began his youth hockey career with the Schaumburg Kings and then played with the Addision Flames. He played on the varsity team throughout high school at Lake Park from 1990-1994. From 1994-1996 he played on the Danville Wings Jr. A (NAHL) and was in the All Star game in 1996. From 1996-1997, Coach Dave played hockey at University of Wisconsin, River Falls (Division III). Following that he played for University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point (Division III), where his team was the National Championship Runner Up in 1998. In 2003, Coach Dave was inducted into the Hall of Fame for University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

Tony Brogan, NWHL Pee Wee Red Head Coach

Coach Tony Brogan began his hockey career with the Flames from 1982-1995. Following his youth hockey experience he played on the Junior A, Spring field Jr. Blues as a goalie from 1995-1996. From 1996-1997 he played Junior B, with the Minnesota Ice Hawks as a defenseman. He continued on at the College of Dupage from 1997-2000 as a forward. Throughout these experiences, Coach Tony also participated in many camps including the Midwest Elite Hockey School, Great Saves Goalie School and Mid-West Goalie School.
 
A USA Hockey Level 4 certified Coach, he has a vast amount of coaching experience beginning with the Bantam Bronze Huskie team and then the Bantam Gold Huskies team which took 2nd in state. Following that experience Coach Tony coached for the Glen Ellyn Flames Bantam Central States team. He also coached for the Winnetka Peewee Central States team, and then several squirt teams including the Admirals Bronze, Chicago Blues Bronze (3rd in state) and the Central States Chicago Blues (2nd in state). His most recent experience included coaching the Mite Bronze Winnetka team (2nd in state) and then finding his home with the Admirals last spring coaching the Mite Gold team.
 

Coach Tony is capable of coaching all levels from beginners to the more advanced. He is superb with kids and helps to develop confidence and agility on the ice to help them make it to the next level. His specialties include power skating, stick handling, shooting, passing, agility and goaltending.
