COVID-19 Latest Update for Spring Hockey

By AHC, 04/14/20, 3:00PM CDT

Dear Admirals Families and Friends,

We are truly living in extraordinary times, but just as these times challenge every part of our day, they also prove out the value of relationships and community.  Even when we can not be together, doing the things we love, we can love and hang on to the idea that while we do not know when this will end, with each day we are one day closer to that end.  Oh to just smell a hockey rink…

Our leadership continues to monitor all of the changing guidance from our local and federal governments and work with our rink partners to think about what a return to hockey will look like and when it might occur.  You can be assured that the health and safety of our players and families will be our top priority.  At this time, the earliest an adjusted Spring program would begin would be in May, and we note that many of our Spring Tournament providers have already moved their events into late June or July.  It is all of course subject to a lot of factors out of our control.

We thank those who already registered and paid for Spring.  All payments received will be credited to the adjusted Spring program (if held) or to your fees for the upcoming Fall season unless we receive a different request.

We are also working to reimagine and reschedule our Awards Banquet.  It will hopefully not just be a celebration of what was accomplished last season, but a celebration of what we have endured together and a launching point for a hopeful and hockey-filled future.

We truly think about you each and every day.  Our Admiral family is a special one, and one that will certainly survive this time of separation, that while hopefully short in context of our total time together, feels longer by the day.  Our communications team is working on some fun virtual activities, beyond the training videos shared by some of our instructors, so look for those soon.  We can find new ways to connect, and enjoy each other’s company.

Until we lace them up again, be safe, be healthy, and love one another.
