The Admirals Bantam AA team hosted an exhibition sled hockey game vs. the Chicago Hornets on Saturday, March 14 to raise awareness and support for the paralympic sport of sled hockey and the Hornets team.
Players from both teams had a great time in the action-packed game, and the stands were filled with hockey fans. Olympian Brody Roybal showed off his skills on the ice and brought his gold medal to share with the players. The Admirals and the generous hockey community raised $3,773.80 for the Chicago Hornets, enough to purchase 6 sleds for the team.
See photos from the event, as well as a news article about the game in the Daily Herald. For more information on sled hockey, see the Chicago Hornets website or view this documentary about the 2014 Men's Sled Hockey Paralympic team in pursuit of the gold in Sochi.
Special thanks to June Keeley and Julie Christman for organizing such a memorable and successful day of hockey!
