The Admirals Developmental Mite League (ADML) is the pre-league step in your young athlete's development. This is a teaching program designed to further develop the Admirals' younger mites toward league play. ADML is an introductory team and coaching environment for beginning young Mites, aged 4-6 (6U).
ADML averages three ice slots per week, including a Skills & Drills skate, a practice, and a cross-ice game. In the summer, ADML averages two slots per week for a station-based practice and a cross-ice game.
ADML may accept players at any time throughout the session. Fall and winter sessions lead to spring league teams. The spring and summer sessions leads to fall league teams.

All players that register for the Admirals Developmental Mite League (ADML) will be placed on a team. These are teaching teams and there are no cuts. ADML does accept players "in session" based on ability and space per team. It is the intent to keep these teams small. In the case of excess registrations every effort will be made to field additional teams. If this is not possible, online registration date will determine eligibility.
This very successful program assists our beginning hockey players to develop their skills quickly against similar age, size and ability players. Sessions will consist of one practice and one game per week. Teams will be drafted in the first weekend of the session, with team practices being conducted the second weekend of the session. On-the-ice coaches will assist players with positioning and rules during games and will double as referees. Players will skate in running time periods and will change on the horn or stoppage of play.
Included in the ADML fee is:
Weekly Skills & Drills, an excellent opportunity for young players to further develop their skating, stick handling, passing and shooting
Weekly station-based practice
Weekly cross-ice game
Numbered team jersey and one pair of hockey socks
The Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) and USA Hockey have released new requirements for Mite hockey to maximize development and create a foundation for future skills. All youth hockey clubs in Illinois must follow the new rules starting in the fall. See the attached letter for more information about the rules and how the Admirals will align our Mite programs.
